Catfish in the Sky is a band that's hard to pin down.  With an instrument make up of fiddle, cello, ukulele, and cajon, these young musicians are breaking musical barriers in ways that shouldn't work but somehow do.  With a style described as "upbeat Americana folk-grass for all ages," these Berklee students are able to combine the vast array of styles and musical backgrounds they come from, creating sets that often cause bystanders to stop in their tracks and just watch.  Playing a variety of fiddle tunes to covers to originals, Catfish in the Sky is sure to have something everyone will love.

Sho Humphries

Ukulele • Guitar • Vocals

Sho Humphries is a singer-songwriter who combines energetic, powerful ukulele playing with uplifting songwriting, delivered with an emotion-filled voice.  Writing from their frustrations growing up in a world devoid of hope, Sho performs with a stubborn refusal to give in to pessimism.  Now a student at the Berklee College of Music, Sho is performing around the US and Japan, teaching workshops, and working on their second album.

Owen Miller

Cajon • Guitar • Vocals

Owen Miller is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter and is technically the band's newest member by about thirty minutes.  A Berklee College of Music scholarship recipient studying music therapy and drum set, Owen creates and plays music with the audience in mind first, trying to create an experience that will leave the listener in a better place.  You can find Owen playing many genres in many different projects, from Rock to RnB, and from Country to Jazz, but here you'll find him combining all of it to give you a new flavor of Roots.

Ruth Shumway

Fiddle • Vocals

Ruth Shumway grew up in the rich bluegrass and old time traditions of North Carolina, where she started fiddling and studying violin concurrently at the age of three.  She studied violin at University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) for the latter half of high school and currently studies violin performance at the Berklee College of Music with her bandmates.  She loves all forms of folklore and tradition, and is especially interested in bringing the Bluegrass and Old Time genres to new listeners.  When not performing with Catfish, you can find her playing all sorts of different music, working on her latest crochet project, or playing Dungeons and Dragons.

Sammy Wetstein

Cello • Vocals

Sammy Wetstein is a musician, composer, and teacher intent on fusing styles of folk and jazz music with improvisational creativity.  While initially classically trained on cello, he has gone on to perform and record in a variety of folk styles including Celtic, New England, Bluegrass, and Old Time.  Sammy's love of music stems from his dream to find belonging and bring others together, and in his teaching he hopes to encourage string players of all ages and backgrounds to find freedom in their music, explore alternative string styles, and to use music as a means to build community while better understanding oneself.
